Tell us about your design style and approach?
I always start by understanding how you use your current kitchen. What works well? What frustrates you? From there, I build those insights directly into the new design. I love combining textures and tones, because contrast adds real depth and personality. With new clients especially, I listen first — then shape ideas so they work both practically and visually.
What are your core strengths as a kitchen designer?
Attention to detail, organisation, and creativity are at the core of everything I do. Furthermore, I always ensure the kitchen works functionally, not just visually. I guide clients honestly through their options, because informed decisions lead to better outcomes. Building trust early is essential — it makes the whole process feel collaborative and enjoyable.
Are there specific materials or finishes you love working with?
Contrasting matt finishes, rich textures, and bold colour combinations are what I'm drawn to most. For example, light oaks paired with deep walnuts create a beautifully natural feel. Additionally, cement and concrete textures work brilliantly as a contrast element. Fluted wood veneer doors, meanwhile, add real character to any space. Overall, I'm always looking for something timeless rather than trend-led.
What is your favourite Nolte Kitchen range/feature?
The Ferro door in Corten Steel is a firm favourite of mine. Its warm, rusty tones add a striking pop of interest to any modern kitchen. Moreover, it's a real metal finish — so you can even put magnets on it. Clients are consistently surprised and delighted when they discover that detail.
What is your best piece of kitchen design advice?
Don't be afraid of contrast — mixing materials, colours, and styles adds depth. Furthermore, it ties the whole space together in a way that feels intentional. A kitchen that plays it completely safe can feel flat. However, a well-considered contrast is what makes a design feel alive and personal.
Any fun facts or hobbies outside of design?
Watersports are a big passion of mine — especially sailing and kayaking. In addition, I stay active through long-distance running. I also love nature and architecture photography, as well as illustration.
