What is your design process like?
Your journey with Nolte starts with an initial meeting in the Amersham showroom where the best layout for your kitchen is discussed, finishes are chosen for your kitchen doors and worktops, and appliance types and brands are picked according to your requirements. We will work with your measurements or architect plans to start the process quickly. A week or so later, a follow-up design showroom appointment is then booked so your kitchen design can be viewed in 3D. Your Nolte kitchen quotation will accompany this meeting. Please allow 1 or 1 ½ hours for each meeting.
What kitchen styles do you offer?
Lots of interesting textures come from Nolte. Real slate doors, veneered fluted, bespoke cement doors, copper, painted and lacquered; lots of wood finishes. Handleless, streamlined, modern and contemporary shaker styles. Base units vary in height from 750mm to 900 mm with many kickboard height options available, catering for all heights, alleviating back pain and maximising storage.
What current trends are you seeing in kitchen design, and how can we incorporate them into my project?
Natural finishes, textures and shades tend to be prevalent. Kitchen is a family hub and open plan living is on the rise. To keep the colours consistent and calm, designers turn to nature for inspiration. Warm tones in rich dark chocolate, subdued bronze, tranquil taupes create a cozy environment for the whole family wherever it’s a quick breakfast in the morning or entertaining in the evening. Lighting has a major impact, creating the right mood and brightness for meal prep or a romantic dinner for two. Nolte lighting is impeccable. Dimmable and zoned via remote, adjustable from cold to warm spectrum as a standard. Expertly, factory built in lighting options are many to choose from. Nolte has thought of everything if you wanted to seamlessly integrate your kitchen and living areas. Media units, bar, pantry, window seating can merge with ease and complement your kitchen.
What is your favourite Nolte Kitchen range?
I feel spoilt with the choice if I am honest. Designing with Neo Lodge and Neo Pure delivers incredible results every time. I am blown away how High End and sophisticated these kitchens are when fitted in clients homes for the price. The value added factor is superb. If pressed however for the current “favourite” I would like to play around with Tavola Oak Barolo. I fell in love with it for the first time in Nolte Forum Germany. A truly incredible 7000 m2 showroom with everything Nolte. If the kitchens are in your blood, like myself, it’s a candy shop of ideas. What is your best piece of design advice?
When the kitchen is considered by a kitchen designer it has to answer several requirements and the compromise of all of these will deliver the best result. It has to work for the client personally in terms of layout where crucial appliances, prep areas, seating etc. are positioned. It has to have a symmetrical element so it’s pleasing to the eye. The kitchen has to work hard and deliver maximum storage and convenience for the budget. The colour/texture combination has to be right for the client and for the house the kitchen is in.The best question I was asked after the kitchen design presentation is: What else would you have done to make this better? Love this question.
How can I make the most of my space when it comes to my kitchen design?
If a kitchen island is desirable but the space or the shape of the room is constricted, consider a peninsular, in most cases, it works to the advantage. Even if the island is “attached” it will still feel like the island but it will deliver a lot more preparation areas, and additional storage and surprisingly save on costs
