Tell us about your design style and approach?
I structure every project around two appointments. First, a discovery appointment — where I show clients everything Nolte has to offer and we choose the components of the design together. Then, a presentation appointment — where clients review photo-realistic renders of their design in their actual space. As a result, clients can visualise their kitchen clearly and commit with confidence.
What are your core strengths as a kitchen designer?
I focus on getting the most out of every space through a well-considered combination of cabinet widths and configurations. In addition, I believe strongly in balancing practicality with aesthetics. After all, a beautiful kitchen that doesn't work for your lifestyle will always fall short. I help clients find that balance from the very first appointment.
Are there specific materials or finishes you love working with?
I'm currently seeing strong demand for earthy colours and natural textures. These finishes create a cosy, inviting feel that works across a wide range of styles. Moreover, they tend to be timeless rather than trend-led. Consequently, the kitchen feels as relevant in ten years as it does on the day it's fitted.
What is your favourite Nolte Kitchen range/feature?
The Torino range is my current favourite for a contemporary look. It delivers clean lines and a refined finish that works beautifully in modern homes. Furthermore, it has enough flexibility to sit comfortably in more transitional spaces. Therefore, it's a versatile choice for a wide range of clients.
What is your best piece of kitchen design advice?
Always aim for a good balance between practicality and aesthetics. A kitchen works hard every day, so function has to come first. However, there's no reason it can't also be beautiful. Ultimately, the best kitchens achieve both — and that's always what I'm working towards.
