A Kitchen Made for Socialising
Katherine wanted her kitchen to be the heart of the home. In particular, somewhere to cook, entertain, and unwind, all in one social space. Working with designer Navid Karagah at our Wilmslow showroom, the brief was simple. Keep it modern, keep it practical, and let it flow.
Her home already had an open-plan layout. So the kitchen needed to work within it, not against it. The design creates distinct zones for cooking and entertaining, without connection between them.
Perfect Plus in Platinum Grey
At the centre of the kitchen sits the Perfect Plus range in Platinum Grey Soft Matt. Anti-Fingerprint 2.0 technology means the surface looks as good as it feels, even with daily use – and the soft matt finish brings a calm, understated depth to the space.
Alongside this, NEFF Slide&Hide® built-in oven and a Bora cooktop with integrated extraction complete the picture bringing two of the most innovative names in kitchen technology into one social space. The kitchen looks the part and it performs, from quick breakfasts to long dinners with friends.
Designed Around the Cook
Every decision here came back to one idea: hosting. Originally, Katherine imagined the hob along the back wall, with the sink on the island. However, designer Navid Karagah suggested something different. Move the Bora hob to the island instead.
It was a small change with a big effect. Whoever’s cooking can now face the room, not the wall so conversations carry over, and nobody’s left out. The Bora system’s built-in extraction keeps the air clear too, so there’s no need for an overhead hood.
A Pantry That Disappears
Behind one set of handleless Nolte doors sits a hidden pantry, where the coffee machine, the toaster, and the breakfast essentials stay tucked out of sight. The countertops stay clear, and the morning routine stays simple.
It’s a small detail, but it says a lot about how Nolte designs. Every element has a place and every element earns its place, whether it’s seen or not.
The Finishing Touches
The worktops and lighting bring the whole social space together. Smooth, durable surfaces echo the kitchen’s clean lines and the lighting does the rest, adding warmth where it’s needed and depth where it matters.
Under-cabinet lighting highlights the Anti-Fingerprint 2.0 finish, while a soft glow sets the mood for evening dinners. The space feels calm and considered, exactly as it should.

A note from Katherine's kitchen designer, Navid Karagah
“This kitchen was all about creating connection. We wanted it to feel sociable, where cooking becomes part of the experience, not separate from it.”
